Allan "Avi" Weiss:
Weiss joined the National Guard while studying at Cleveland State to be a social worker. His tank unit was not deployed to Kent in May 1970, and he found out about the campus shootings while on a train. In 1971, Weiss was involved in a jeep accident while at National Guard training. He requested to be moved to another unit in exchange for providing details of the accident to an inspector general. Weiss spent the rest of his obligation in a medical unit. He lives in Mayfield Heights.
