Robert Hatfield:
Hatfield enlisted in the Ohio National Guard in 1969, working as a mechanic. In the 1970s, he was employed at Morton Salt in Rittman. As a Private 2nd Class in Company A, he was positioned on Blanket Hill at the time of the shootings. Initially, his name was included in the $46 million civil lawsuit though claims for damages were later dropped against him. Hatfield passed away in April 2021, just six weeks after this interview.
