Barry Morris: Morris served in the Ohio Army National Guard from 1965 to 1971, during which time his Ravenna-based unit was called out numerous times. During his Guard years, he worked at Morgan Adhesives Company in Stow. A staff sergeant in Troop F, he was one of the eight Guardsmen indicted and ultimately acquitted after the Kent State shootings. Morris has lived in Kent -just four miles from the KSU campus - since 1974.
This photo appeared in the Daily Kent Stater on October 31, 1974. During the criminal trial, the jury and the indicted Guardsmen visited the site of the shootings. Morris is the third from the right, with his hands in his pockets.
