Raymond Silvey:
Silvey served for over five years in the National Guard, while working for Goodyear Tire & Rubber. A private when deployed to Kent State in May 1970, he was not on Blanket Hill but heard the gunfire. Following the Kent State shootings, he applied for a conscientious objector discharge. In September 1971, a U.S. district court judge ruled that the Ohio National Guard must discharge him. Originally from Cuyahoga Falls, Silvey currently lives in Dublin.
