Mathew McManus:
McManus served ten years in the Ohio Army National Guard. He worked for a paper company in the spring of 1970 when the Guard was called out, first to patrol highway bridges during the teamsters strike, and then to Kent. A sergeant in Company A, he was one of the eight Guardsmen indicted and ultimately acquitted after the Kent State shootings. The Wooster native still resides there.
