​Karl Brenneman:
Brenneman served in the 107th Armored Cavalry of the Ohio National Guard from 1966 to 1972. During his time in the Guard, he worked at the Goodyear factory in Akron. At the time of the Kent State shootings, Brenneman was stationed 13 miles east at the Ravenna arsenal. Within an hour of the shootings, his unit had been deployed to campus. A native of the Summit County hamlet of Greensburg, Brenneman still lives there.
