Michael Peters:
Peters graduated from the University of Dayton in May 1968, and joined the Ohio National Guard the same month. He transferred to another Guard unit in Lakewood, Ohio, the following year after taking a job at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. In 1970, Peters served in the Howitzer Battery, 2d Squadron, 107th Armored Cavalry Regiment. On May 4th, Peters’s unit was stationed at the Akron-Canton Airport. Upon hearing news of the shootings, his unit mobilized and arrived into Kent within the hour. He has lived in North Carolina for over 40 years.
